Just thougtht I would add up our case study on our first event in Second Life in October. We have held many mini events for networking but this was the first with speakers. It was a great example and learning experience of how to do events and we took away many tips on how to make it a lot smoother in terms of how we invite delegates and info needed from delegates before the event (if the island sim where the event is to be held crashes, how do you get everyone to abother island if you dont have their avatar names?) and also for setting up speakers with what they need and the right equiptment (a PPT viewer which only the speaker can control instead of all delegates having the control to skip slides!).

Now we have taken all of this into account, we are running another event on 21st November as a panel session with BP, SGi and The Electric Sheep Company (TBC) and moderated by Daden. The sesison will cover different uses of Second Life and Virtual Worlds and how to be commercial in Second Life. Following on from this event the next exciting sesison will be training events in SL. Watch this space.

Brilliant - thanks for the info.

Glad you enjoyed ice skating - fitted well with the season!

I liked the ice skating one last year.

It's easy to post events on this site now using the events tab in the top menu. Just click on 'events' and click 'add event' in the top right corner.

So sorry! Have just noticed the comments....the SLURL is http://slurl.com/secondlife/digital20futures/128/187/25/ but the island has been going through some changes and we are making plans to do more with it the latter part of this year....will keep posting up notices of what is happening. We do have a register process mainly to get people's avatar names in the instance that something happens to the island on the day, then we can teleport them all to a backup location.

Do you have to register for these events ? Do you have a SLURL for the location ?
