I am a licensed psychologist practicing in Orange County, California. I work with depressed, anxious, and angry teenagers. I incorporate many aspects of technology into my practice and I am looking to develop a video game that would engage my most oppositional teenager and teach him to have increased self regulation over his body and mind. I use many different types of biofeedback and neurofeedback in my practice (including, HRV, NIR and PIR HEG Neurofeedback, and EEG Neurofeedback). I also play Madden or NBA Live when they just won't talk with me. However, my main interest in this site is an increased awareness of the therapeutic application of a straight forward PC game minus the human interface that comes with biofeedback that would increase mindfulness of the cognitive choices we experience as we interface with others and our own emotions.
About Me:
I was born in New York City and have lived in New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and Californa. I went to Kenyon College for my undergraduate work and The California School of Professional School of San Diego for my doctorate in Psychology. For fun, I have been listening to the free MIT courses offered through iTunes as I play Madden or NBA Live. I have two cats, one dog, and a wife that does a great job putting up with me.
