Job role: PIXELearning is interested in offering 12 month placements to students who have completed two years of study in computer games design or programming. Our primary requirements are in 3D environment and character development, 2D interface, asset and texture creation, multimedia development (CGI videos for cut scenes and sales demonstrators) and Flash ActionScript development. Key technologies and tools are 3DS Max, Photoshop, After Effects/Premier, Flash 9, Illustrator etc. The day to day activities will include the creation of 2D and 3D assets (environments, objects and characters) for use in our games and simulations, animations of discreet assets (e.g. animated people) and complete CGI animated sequences, screen user interface element build, early stage concept mockup creation, audio editing and some general marketing material creation (e.g. product flyers and web site imagery). The role(s) will also involve inputting into the game/simulation design process alongside experienced game, instructional, simulation and technical designers.
In addition, this placement opportunity offers candidates a chance to work with experienced serious game developers, instructional designers, project managers, simulation modelers, experienced artists and developers. We also use freelance and offshore development resources extensively and have clients across the world thus giving the candidate exposure to clients, partners, suppliers and contractors on a daily basis to build a sound and varied set of commercial experience.

Package: PIXELearning is offering a starting placement remuneration package of £12,000 p.a. with 20 days paid holiday (with potential for salary increases after 6 months) paid overtime and productivity-related bonuses.
